Experienced Accounting Technician required by our client, a busy service company based at their offices on the Waterford/Kilkenny border. The overall purpose of this role is to ensure the smooth running of the accounts function.

Main duties and responsibilities will include;

  • Oversee all Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions
  • Process employee payroll including Revenue submissions
  • Prepare monthly Profit and Loss and sales reports
  • VAT bi-monthly reports, review, checks and filing.
  • Oversee and ensure timely recording of banking transactions and preparations of bank reconciliations.
  • Manage all financial activities including payments, invoices, expenses etc
  • Ensure compliance with all regulations and internal controls
  • Prepare the monthly finance tracking report and analyse variances, with a view to better matching performance to expectation.
  • Prepare cash forecasts and produce a running cash flow statement.
  • Prepare documents for and liaise with external auditors for statutory year end accounts

Skills and experience

  • Must be qualified to Accounting Technician level
  • Ideally have 3+ years experience in a similar role
  • Experience of accounts packages is essential
  • Strong IT skills
  • Team player with excellent inter-personal skills, who can establish and maintain excellent relationships within the team, internal stakeholders and external customers
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy with the ability to take individual ownership for delivering quality work
  • Highly organised and ability to adapt to quickly changing priorities
  • Deadline orientated
