To manage the day to day running of the Finance department, meeting deadlines, driving improvements for the department and wider business, and bringing an enthusiasm for the Bayfield’s culture.

About the role

  • Delivery of Management Accounts by working day 8 with commentary and analysis, for P&L and balance sheet with particular focus on Fixed Assets and monthly forecasting.
  • Support integration of new acquisitions into management reporting, drive the closure of former bank accounts through overseeing supplier migration and moving NHS income and Direct Debit income.
  • Preparate and submit of VAT returns and all VAT compliance reporting to the FC and FD.
  • Review payroll, prepare payroll journals, recharges, and holiday accruals. Work closely with the People Team and build great relationships.
  • Be a significant contributor to year-end statutory audit alongside the FC and providing relevant information and answering queries.
  • Actively look for opportunities to make process improvements, to increase efficiency by leading and owning projects and seeing them through.
  • Own external reporting including Companies House, ONS, HMRC queries, annual accounts for micro entities and Valuation Office submissions.
  • Line manager responsibility for 5 team members including regular 121’s, supporting development within the team and leading the support for a Finance Apprentice in the team.

Preferred experience:

  • Sage 200
  • CIMA / ACCA qualified
  • VAT knowledge and VAT return experience
