As a Requirements Engineer, you’ll be working across engineering teams building our strategic platforms in the cloud, key compliance partners ensuring we operate a safe and well managed bank, and security intelligence functions understanding the threats we must mitigate. You’ll collaborate with internal teams and business leaders alike, ensuring strategically sound approaches to mitigating threats and meeting the Regulatory & Legal obligations you identify. You will assist in decisions prioritizing what goals must be met, and where innovation can be enabled, while fostering a client-centric environment where everyone learns and grows. At the end of the day, your work will have tremendous and positive impact, whether it is in-house, in collaboration with technologists across JPMorgan Chase & Co.’s global technology community or in partnership with some of the most important tech firms in the world.

As part of our Assurance Foundations team, you will bring your background in relationship management and threat modelling, architecture or technical policy management to curate a library of consistent and clear requirements, along side the engineers building them. These requirements include documenting the goals the team is seeking to achieve, their justification, and examples of successful technical control approaches taken inside or outside the Firm.

You will bring your desire to understand a wide variety of business contexts and technology challenges to rapidly break new ground, improve existing control approaches, all while keeping an eye on developing trends in regulation, policy and industry security standards to continuously ensure our current control designs are preparing our developers for the future.

This role requires a wide variety of strengths and capabilities, including:

  • BS/BA degree or equivalent experience
  • Expertise in security design, compliance policy or architecture & requirements management
  • Relationship management including negotiating competing demands across a variety of stakeholder groups
  • Clear experience & success communicating non-technical stakeholders needs’ to sync with technical delivery teams near term goals
  • Clear experience structuring a range of competing requirements into well managed, long term maintained information resources
  • Strategic thinking and passion for business strategy and business processes
  • Ability to work collaboratively in teams and develop meaningful relationships to achieve common goals
  • Ability to translate broad data to concise plans including team tasks, meaningful documentation, and executive-level updates
  • Strong program-management skills preferred

5+ year background (combined) of technical excellence across 2 of:

  • Direct infrastructure, application, or platform technical delivery
  • Technology audit functions or Technology risk management
  • Threat Modelling or Security Architecture
  • Threat Intelligence or Red Teaming

Nice to have:

  • Experience working with GDPR, GLBA, Sarbanes Oxley (SOX), PCI-DSS or SOC1 controlled environments
  • Experience working with MITRE ATT&CK, D3FEND, NIST 800.53, CAPEC, STRIDE and other control and threat frameworks
  • Experience working with control frameworks such as RSA Archer, IriusRisk threat modeller, etc
  • Experience with industry threat intelligence frameworks such as TAXII, STIX, Lockheed Killchain, etc
